History Synopsis Conditions on the admission of foreign Students


History

1881 Established as a private veterinary school in the precincts of Gokokuji temple in Koishikawa, Tokyo.
1949 Raised to the status of college, according to Japan's new educational system, changing the name to Nippon Veterinary and Zootechnical College.
1952 Merged with Nippon Medical School.
1962 Established graduate school (master's and doctoral level courses) of veterinary science.
1967 Established the Department of Food Science and Technology.
1968 Upgraded the curriculum of Department of Animal Science, adopting new theories.
1982 Established a six-year program of study for students in the Department of Veterinary Science with four-year undergraduate and two-year graduate (master's) courses.
1984 Started a new undergraduate course (six-year program) for students majoring in veterinary science.
1990 Established advanced graduate school program (four-year doctoral course) in veterinary science. Changed the name to Nippon Veterinary and Animal Science University.

foreign students from any countries must also pass the same entrance examination that ordinary Japanese students take.
